Sycophant not Psychopath to Head DHS

DHS is my lane. Markwayne? No less qualified or sane than the rest of the regime.

Foreign for me as a teen was Long Branch, which was closer by water than land to the degraded estuary I lived upon, or what was left after filling the majority of it. The Long Branch was a river before it became the name of a city and a destination for the rich who were not welcome in Newport Rhode Island or the Hamptons, known as the summer home of seven US presidents, before the advent of air-conditioning.

While the prep-school kids were being shipped off to New England, we were hitch-hiking to Long Branch, where on the boardwalk Max would sell you a bottle of Budweiser if you were tall enough to put your dollar on the counter.

Before we finished grammar school, we had made it all the way to Asbury Park to play pinball in the Palace, but our home turf was limited to Rumson’s swampy West Park section, south of Saint George’s. What I am getting at is that we were not destined for global adventuring, but we were expert in what the fascists named the homeland, because father and mother land had already been taken.

Texas is said to be not falling into the gulf because Oklahoma sucks that much. There Markwayne might just fit. I know nothing about Oklahoma’s politics. From here it looks like a hard place to escape. Markwayne seems to have found a way out. I have a hard time thinking DC to be an improvement over most places, but a step up from what little I have seen of Oklahoma.

Will Markwayne play dress up, and terrorize the nation because Steve Miller bullies him? I find that hard to imagine. Will Markwayne defend the constitutional rights of all Americans? Has anyone in this regime?

I do not know to whom Markwayne is beholden, or if he is his own person. I hope Markwayne will rise above his fascist roots and become a better man than he has been. I know he knows next to nothing about Cold War coastal defense systems, but he is not the psychopath that Noem remains, for certain. I’d be glad to give him a tour of Long Branch, which I would wager to be one of the most secure cities in the nation, hands down, and right on the Ocean.
