Back to Hegseth
The Feed Doth not Quit
I am not, nor ever have I been an employee of the United States Government, or any of its agencies. I am a lifelong volunteer, however, raised just down the street from Saint George’s on the river, at the bottom of Waterman Avenue, in Rumson, New Jersey.
My father had an uncle named Waterman. My grandfather grew up in a family running quarries in Rhode Island. Saint George’s was built with quarried stone. To us it was a castle, and a playground. We might as well have been raised in England.
I have served with Jews, I have served with Catholics, I have worked with Army, Navy, and Air Force Chaplains, in the field. Never did I see an officer as ignorant as Hegseth. I served next to white nationalists. I served with racists, antisemites…you name it. I saw some very difficult to understand veterans out there in the wild blue yonder, but none of them had the power to harm the nation like this unchecked, unhinged, degenerate, misogynist, racist, Hegseth.
Whatever role I was playing, I could always choose to walk away. I feel for those who do not have that freedom, for whatever reason. I feel for those detained by law-breaking ICE thugs. I feel for people everywhere stuck in environments being reconfigured by madmen like Hegseth and the rest of them.
